Art, the expression of a creative thought process involving talent and skill.
When done right AI generated art is still art. 'when done right' is subjective, it is in the eye of the beholder. The ability to engage, resonate, entice, emote with the audience is not determined by the manner in which it was created.
AI generated art, including music, has become part of our reality - a part that cannot be ignored. As we are still in the process of wrapping our heads around AI, we feel the need to communicate the following provisos with regard to AI generated works submitted to us:
- Sourcing: AI generated music submissions must clearly state that (parts of) the submitted work have been created with AI
- Copyrights: AI-generated music cannot be copyrighted unless it includes meaningful human authorship.
- Transparency: AI generated music that passes the submission process will be tagged [AI generated] and will be visible as such to our listeners in our audio broadcasting streams.
In practice we will treat AI generated submitted works as any other source material - we'll just be more strict in admitting it to our radio. In other words: it has to be really good.
